the day you said goodbye,
Did you think about the consequences
and all you left behind,
Or was it all about you and what
you were going through,
Never once considering what
your actions were going to do,
Broken heart and lonely teardrops,
the day you said goodbye
Do you know how much I love you,
or how my heart would cry?
I know that you are hurting,
you know I felt it to....
Why did you have to hurt me,
why no other way?
Silent tears pour from her eyes
as she remembers the promises made,
Easily she could quote each and
everyone of them,
For they were ebbed in heart,
etched there for all time,
Never thinking that you would break them,
that you wouldn't stay.
These tears will not stop flowing,
your promise will not fade
Your words an endless echo,
forever in my heart
I built my world upon them,
you were my only rock
And now everything is falling,
my world was built on sand.....
Countless times did she cry for you,
Tears from her heart that were so true,
Did she not bleed in your name,
when an answer you couldn't give?
Not even to spare her the pain?
Never did she complain and took the
blade.
Never crying out or cursing your name
Yet, you still walked away
Have you heard me crying
in the silence of the night?
Did you feel the silver blade
or the blood I shed?
Every moment softly praying
that you would call my name
Yet I couldn't help but love you
as you turned and walked away.....
Now she sits out in the rain,
A soul lonely, lost and afraid,
As the rain blends with her tears,
from a broken heart that has bled,
An emptiness grows inside her,
and she sees now way out,
For what once was her light,
no longer shines
And is gone...
